We have an incredible opportunity before our church which, by God’s grace, will impact the country of Haiti, but also all of us who are a part of Harvest Houston. We have the privilege to partner with Harvest Austin and Harvest San Antonio in planting a church in Cap Rouge, Haiti. Haiti has been an open door since the 2010 earthquake devastated that country.

On April 6, 2014 Harvest Bible Chapel Jacmel was planted by Pastor Abraham Comper, who transitioned his church to Harvest because of the shared vision he had to impact Haiti. After pastor Abraham, Nego Pierre-Louis attended the Harvest Training Center in Chicago with the intent of planting Harvest Maplat Haiti which launched September 27, 2015. Antoine Sainvil (featured in the video below) who had been serving in Harvest Jacmel, has now completed training and has officially launched Harvest Cap Rouge as of May 29, 2016.

Our plan is to come alongside Antoine in order to support him and his family through the move from Jacmel to the planting and establishing of Harvest Cap Rouge.

1) PRAY: We have committed to pray regularly for them and carry their burdens from afar in prayer.

2) GIVE: The three Harvest Texas churches will support Antoine and his family financially including the launch of the church in Cap Rouge. We are paying for his training and will support him for the next five years, each year decreasing as the church in Cap Rouge grows and they are able to pay their pastor. The three Texas churches are dividing the total amount each year by three. To give you an idea of the cost, 2016 is the most expensive year and the annual cost per church is approximately $11,200. The total amount includes getting Antoine and his family established in a home and a launch budget. Also, as special needs arise we will bring those before our church body to raise special offerings.

3) GO: We commit to go to Haiti, Lord willing, sending a team annually to serve the Harvest churches in that country. The churches have orphan ministries, schools, medical clinics, a teacher training school, building projects, camps, conferences, after–school programs and so many other ministries for us to get connected with what God is doing in Haiti.

The three Texas Harvest churches have also committed to coaching Antoine, though there is certainly much for us to learn from him. Antoine will be in Texas the end of December through January 2016 interning with the three Harvest churches.
